First Communion for Children

Parent Requirements:

  • Register as members of St. Mary’s Church

  • Register with the Family Faith Formation Office

  • Provide a copy of your child’s baptismal certificate

  • Attend Mass regularly for at least three months

  • Attend the required sacramental preparation meetings

  • At the meetings you will receive information about the First Communion Masses

  • Complete the parent/child lesson packet at home

Child Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in Second Grade or above and already baptized

  • One year of Faith Formation classes is required before beginning First Communion preparation classes. This requirement does not apply to St. Mary's School students. 

  • Attend all Faith Formation Classes (CCD) or St. Mary’s Parish School from September until May

  • Complete projects in classes

  • Complete the parent/child lesson packet at home
