Sanctuary & Grounds

Chrisann Beautification Committee
Inspired by the Holy Spirit and using gifts and talents, the ChrisAnn Tallis Beautification Ministry of St. Mary’s Parish is dedicated to serving the parish by preparing an atmosphere for prayer and worship.

This ministry team heightens the awareness of the festive, solemn, and penitential nature of liturgical seasons by planning, executing, and maintaining the interior and exterior décor of the church and parish grounds.

The Chrisann Tallis Beautification Ministry is responsible for creating an attractive, sacred, and peaceful environment to enhance liturgical worship and prayer of the parish, making the church and grounds places suited to sacred, dignified, and beautiful celebrations.
Sanctuary Floral Intentions

The Chrisann Tallis Beautification Committee would like to have fresh flowers in the sanctuary as often as possible to enhance our weekend Masses. This program allows you to honor your loved ones or commemorate an anniversary with flowers on the altar, or perhaps celebrate your patron saint day in a special way.

Grounds and Landscaping

Mowing: During spring, summer and fall, as needed, four volunteers mow the grass on the properties surrounding the church and school. They cover for one another's vacations and illnesses, so it's not too burdensome for any of them. They try to keep the grass looking fairly even for the weekend Masses, so usually the mowing is on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday morning if the weather doesn't interfere. They use a John Deere riding mower for the large fields, two Toro push mowers for the lawns around the church and school, and various edgers and blowers. All the volunteers engage in various equipment maintenance activities as the need arises. New volunteers should call Mark Kramp if they are interested. The volunteers have occasionally helped with snow removal as well, but just to supplement the work of the parish's regular contractor.
